Kids grow up so fast.

Me: It’s your birthday next week, how old are you?

Gabbie: I’m about to turn 4 Daddy…

Me: I’m so excited for your birthday my baby.

Gabbie: I’m not a baby anymore, I’m a grown up.

Me: If your a grown up, why are you still so small?

Gabbie: Uhmmmm I’m a baby grown-up.

Me: How did that happen?

Gabbie: You’re so silly Daddy.

I can’t believe my eldest daughter Gabbie is already 4 years old. It seems like it was just yesterday when we were taking pictures after Kat gave birth to her. I don’t know what I will do on her debut; or even unthinkable for me, her wedding.

Before

Today

I tell Gabbie “You are my baby” … then she will end the sentence with the word…FOREVER! She really is my baby forever. I want to be the best dad for my kids. I pray that my children will love God and have a godly fear in their heart. I always pray that God will protect them from harm. Incidentally, we just bought clothes for her in Megamall. Gabbie ran and didn’t notice that she was already far. She was crying while trying to look for us. My heart went to my stomach losing Gabbie for 5 minutes before finding her. What a relief!

Gabbie’s birthday party at Schoolroom

As a parent, we are protective of our children. When they get hurt, we are hurt even more. It is our responsibility to guide our children and instill values that will enable them to make good decisions in life so that when we’re not there, they will make those crucial decisions on their own for the good.

Proverbs 13:22 NIV

A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,

The good and the bad can both leave an inheritance. However, what the good leave that the bad doesn’t is a legacy. A legacy that will be the banner of your family, a legacy like integrity, love, or hope — something that your children and your great grandchildren will be proud of. It is a story of your family that will be passed down to generations.

Ballet Show

We went home from a ballet show last night. Gabbie was so happy. I asked her if she wants to be a ballerina. She replied with a happy “Yes!” After watching the show, Gabbie and Alexa were dancing in the hallways of CCP probably dreaming of one day, performing ballet in front of a large audience. I was also dreaming at that moment, dreaming of the day that my kids will soar high — Kat and I will be their best cheerleaders. But even if they don’t, my love for them won’t be lessened.

Enjoy every moment with your children so that when they recall their best times in life, it is when they are with you. Happy Birthday Gabbie! Daddy and Mommy loves you so much! You are our baby forever =)
