Do you want to Be Rich or just Get Rich?

My good friend Dennis Sy wrote a book that could be called Spiritual Finance (if there is such a word). I am a book geek, but Dennis is probably one of my few friends who love reading books more than me. In fact, most of my favorite authors right now… Dave Ramsey, Seth Godin, and Jeff Bridges, came from his recommendations.

In the eyes of the world, the end game is to get rich – your net worth equals your self worth. However, in God’s view, He doesn’t only bless us financially but God is more concerned with our overall being. That’s the essence of Be Rich vs. Get Rich.

Dennis’ arguments are convincing: If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, YOU are more blessed than millions who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, YOU are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, YOU are more blessed than 3 billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes, a roof on your head, and a place to sleep, YOU are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, YOU are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, YOU are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can read this message, YOU are more blessed than over 2 billion people in the world who could not read at all.

Are we really thankful for what we have and not just always wishful of the things we don’t?

Rich For Life is not just your typical finance book, it deals with the most important facet of finances… having peace of mind. It will help you focus on the inside first before even making a move on the outside. And for those who are already there, you may be making so much money, but deep down, you still feel empty. This book is also for you.

Before reading any finance book, start with Rich For Life. It will show you the big difference between Being Rich and Getting Rich, and the true meaning of financial peace. My conclusion? Rich For Life = Knowing Financial Peace.
